To activate Sowilo, draw the rune on a gold, red, or solar medium. Light a bright yellow or white candle, preferably in the morning or at noon. Hold the heliotrope in your right hand or over your heart. The ritual sound is solar, decisive, and open:

“Sooo-wee-looo…”

pronounced with a knowing smile, like a ray of light expanding from the chest out into the world.
