Its shape resembles a double arch, like two people meeting in mirror images. It is the symbol of confrontation, but also of the communion between mind and spirit, between intuition and reason. It is the rune of conscious identity, of the balance between self-sufficiency and cooperation.

The stone associated with it is fluorite, a crystal of mental order, clarity, and psychic defense. Fluorite helps one see clearly without being deceived, protects from external mental influences, and stimulates the ability to think with one's center. Together with Mannaz, it becomes a truthful mirror, a guide for working on oneself with intelligence and awareness.

To activate Mannaz, draw the rune on white or blue paper, or in a personal journal. Light a blue or indigo candle, a symbol of mental clarity and awareness. Hold the fluorite in your hands or at forehead level. The ritual sound is composed, clear, and reflective:

“Maaaann-naaaz…”

pronounced with concentration and inner listening, as if it were a call to the higher self.

During meditation, Mannaz manifests as a clear mirror, a face that changes shape, or a circle of human beings holding hands. She brings to light hidden parts of the self, but also karmic connections, messages from guiding figures, and insights into how to truly live in the world.
