Physical and chemical characteristics of Labradorite
Labradorite is a plagioclase feldspar with the chemical formula (Ca,Na)(Al,Si)₄O₈. It crystallizes in the triclinic crystal system, has a hardness of 6–6.5 on the Mohs scale, and a vitreous luster. It is famous for its iridescent phenomenon known as labradorescence, which produces blue, green, gold, and orange reflections under incident light. It is a stone of psychic protection, intuition, lucid dreaming, and inner transformation. Considered the stone of the shaman and the magician, it guides the passage between worlds and enhances mediumistic abilities.
