Chrysocolla – Initiatory Product Sheet

Physical and chemical characteristics of Chrysocolla

Chrysocolla is a hydrated copper silicate with the chemical formula (Cu,Al)₂H₂Si₂O₅(OH)₄ nH₂O. It has a hardness ranging from 2 to 4 on the Mohs scale, a matte or vitreous luster, and a color ranging from blue-green to intense turquoise. It is often found mixed with other stones such as malachite, azurite, quartz, or turquoise. It is considered the stone of sacred speech, feminine healing, and the wisdom of the heart. It promotes inner calm, compassionate communication, and connection with the energy of Mother Earth.

Family of belonging, sister stones and colors

Chrysocolla is related to turquoise, amazonite, and malachite, with which it often appears in synergy. Its colors evoke water and vegetation: shades of blue-green, azure, and turquoise. It is the stone of the priestess, of the healing word, of the silence that protects.

Most important deposits and countries

The main deposits are found in Peru, Chile, Mexico, Israel, Congo, Russia, the United States, and Indonesia. It was used by the Egyptians as a stone of feminine wisdom, and by pre-Columbian civilizations as an amulet of fertility and protection. Each Chrysocolla is like a silent prayer carved into the rock, an invocation of inner peace.

Zodiac – Chrysocolla

Chrysocolla is associated with the sign of Taurus (April 21 – May 20), an Earth sign associated with beauty, voice, and stability. The symbolic constellation is the Whale: ancient guardian of sound, song, and emotional memory.

Dominant element: Water. Chrysocolla flows through the heart and throat, acting on the heart (4th) and throat (5th) chakras. It purifies, relaxes, pacifies, and releases emotional tension. It is the voice of water that consoles, the wave that brings forgiveness.
