Kyanite – Initiatory Product Sheet

Physical and chemical characteristics of Kyanite

Kyanite, also called Dysthene, is an aluminum silicate with the chemical formula Al₂SiO₅. It crystallizes in the triclinic system and has the distinctive feature of having two different degrees of hardness: 4.5–5 along the longitudinal axis and 6.5–7 along the transverse axis. Its most common color is intense blue or light blue, but it can also be found in white, green, or black. It is a stone that promotes energetic alignment and the connection between the upper chakras. It stimulates intuition, mental clarity, and spiritual communication.

Family of belonging, sister stones and colors

It belongs to the nesosilicate family and is related to sodalite, lapis lazuli, and tanzanite in its mental and spiritual action. Its colors range from sapphire blue to pale blue, with silvery or translucent streaks. It is the stone of the inner channel: it connects mind and spirit, speech and vision.

Most important deposits and countries

The main deposits are found in Brazil, Nepal, India, the United States, Kenya, Austria, and Switzerland. Used industrially for its heat resistance, it is also highly valued spiritually for its ability to elevate consciousness. Each blade of Kyanite is like a needle of light that pierces mental fog and opens to higher clarity.

Zodiac – Kyanite

Kyanite is associated with the sign of Gemini (May 21 – June 21), an air sign associated with communication, curiosity, and an active mind. The symbolic constellation is the Dolphin: a mental and spiritual guide between the worlds of knowledge and energy.

Kyanite Element

Dominant element: Air and Ether. Kyanite acts particularly on the fifth (throat) and sixth (third eye) chakras, promoting inspired speech, clairvoyance, and structured intuition. It is the stone of verbal and spiritual channeling, deep meditation, and silent presence.
